FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
France-Lames Update11/08/02 -- France-Lames, the world's largest producer of blades for fencing, has gone out of business. The forge itself was recently purchased by Prieur who also bought or merged with Soudet (depending on who you talk to) in the mid-90's. Prieur has not yet given us any information on blade prices or production beyond their current line. As a consequence of this, our standard foil blades will change from F-L to Leon Paul (England) or STM (Ukraine) or Vostok (Russia), depending on what we can get. The world supply of blades has definitely taken a hit, so our stock will be eclectic for a while. Our guarantee of quality, however, is unchanged. Dr. I. Yeti, AFS Laboratories
